Fun and interesting facts about Carotino

Whether you are just discovering Carotino palm fruit oil or if it has long been a staple in your kitchen, you may not know all about its goodness. Here’s our list of the most fun and interesting facts about this healthy oil.

Fact #1: It’s such a beautiful color!

That striking red color is created by its exceptionally high levels of carotenoids, such as alpha- and beta-carotenes as well as lycopene, which are pigmented compounds that are loaded with nutritional value.

Fact #2: Carotino has something important in common with carrots and tomatoes

Carotino palm fruit oil contains large amounts of alpha- and beta-carotenes, which are non-toxic, pigmented precursors of vitamin A. Vitamin A is important to maintaining good vision and supporting our immune system. Palm fruit oil contains on average 13 to 15 times more carotenes than carrots and 40 to 50 times more carotenes than tomatoes.

Fact #3: Carotino palm fruit oil has more vitamin E tocotrienols than other vegetable oils

Tocopherols and tocotrienols are two forms of the strong antioxidant, vitamin E which work hard to remove damaging oxygen free radicals. Palm fruit oil has by far the highest level of naturally occurring tocotrienols among all vegetable oils.

Fact #4: Carotino is an efficient energy source

Carotino palm fruit oil provides your body with equal amounts of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, and is an efficient energy source. The average fatty acid composition in palm fruit oil is as follows:

• 40% oleic acid (monounsaturated), 10% linoleic acid and 0.4% linolenic acid (both polyunsaturated)

• 44% palmitic acid (monosaturated), 4.6% stearic acid, 1.1% myristic acid and 0.2% lauric acid (all three saturated).

Fact #5: Carotino’s nutrients are easy for the body to absorb

Carotino palm fruit oil contains important vitamins and other phytonutrients (plant nutrients). Their quantities and ratios are as originally formed by Mother Nature, and remain unaltered by the refining process. The body is able to absorb and utilize the carotenes, tocopherols and tocotrienols in palm fruit oil extremely well (i.e. their bioavailability is very high) because these fat-soluble vitamins are present in the oil medium.

Fact #6: Carotino palm fruit oil is good for you!

Carotino palm fruit oil not only tastes good, but it’s good for you because it’s:

• A 100% natural product

• High in natural carotenes

• High in natural vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols)

• 100% vegan

• High natural biovailability of phytonutrients

• A powerful combination of antioxidants

And it contains:

• No cholesterol

• No trans fatty acids

• No hydrogenated oil

• No sodium

• No preservatives

• No artificial colorants

Fact #7: Carotino’s nutrients are stable, even over long periods of storage

Palm fruit oil’s unique fatty acid composition makes it exceptionally resistant to the detrimental effects of atmospheric oxygen. It retains its freshness and its valuable properties even if it is stored in your pantry for months. (But you’ll probably use it faster than that!)

Fact #8: Carotino’s nutrients withstand frying

Palm fruit oil has a high smoke point. Its natural nutrients remain intact at normal cooking temperatures.
